Finland managed to beat Poland and secure a place in the qualification games as the second of group A. Finland had the game under control just at the start after four points in the first. Poland struggled with their draw strenght which opened Finland chances to score four points with the hammer also in the fifth. The game was over after the seventh with the score 12-5. Switzerland completed its round-robin with clear performance after a win over China which meant that New Zealand will be third, China fourth and USA fifth in the group A.
Teams in group B played two draws today and the latter one is still underway. The big favourite Canada lost to Hungary in the morning and had big difficulties making any shots. Especially almost every hit they tried to make failed just that much it took away their own stones. Before the evening draw Canada, Sweden and Hungary were all at 4-2 and if they'd all win, it would be Sweden to qualify as the group winner.
In group C the qualification spot is still open behind group-winning Norway. Czech Republic and Latvia are both at 4-2 before the final round-robin draw on Thursday morning. Latvia defeated Scotland 8-2 and the Czechs were victorious against Spain earlier today. France and Scotland at 3-3 will need both Latvia and Czech Republic to lose their games in order to capture place in qualification games.
