Lohja Wheelchair B world Championships started

FIRST STONES THROWN AT LOHJA Wheelchair Curling B

Eight teams started the Wheelchair - B - world championships games at Lohja, on friday evening.  As darkness had fallen above southern Finland, Scotland took eight points from three first ends to lead 8-1 at Half time. Scots took another two points after the break but Slovenia fought back, getting two 3-pointers in 6th and 7th. It was not enough, though as Scotland played eighth end smartly and Slovenia run out of Stones. 10-7 for Scotland.

Turkey made three steals at first half of the game, leading 6-0 over Italy. Italy could not recover and Turkey took their first win 10-4.

Slovakia met Sweden. Turning point of the game was probably the third end as Slovakia took a 4-pointer to lead 6-1. After that Turkey could execute defensive strategy and kept their lead to win 10-4 over Sweden.

Last match of the first round of group A was all England. They did not give Israel any chance or any point in the game, as they stormed to win by 18-0 in only six ends.

Games are now started at deep darkness of southern Finland, at bright lights of Kisakallio sports institute, Lohja, Finland. Group B starts their games at saturday morning.
